NAD⁺ (Nicotinamide Adenine Dinucleotide) is one of the most extensively studied coenzymes in modern biology. Functioning as a central metabolic regulator, it participates in over 500 enzymatic reactions from mitochondrial energy production to epigenetic gene regulation via sirtuins. BPeptide’s NAD+ 1000mg is produced under strict GMP conditions and verified to ≥99% purity by independent HPLC and mass spectrometry analysis.

Cellular Energy Production

NAD⁺ is the primary electron carrier in mitochondrial oxidative phosphorylation, driving ATP synthesis at the cellular level.

🧬

DNA Repair Mechanisms

Serves as the obligate substrate for PARP enzymes, which detect and repair single and double strand DNA breaks.

🔁

Sirtuin Activation

NAD⁺ is a required co-substrate for all seven sirtuins (SIRT1–SIRT7), the protein deacylases central to metabolic regulation and longevity research.

🧠

Neurological Research

Preclinical models suggest NAD⁺ repletion supports neuronal bioenergetics and may have implications in neurodegeneration research.

All BPeptide products are supplied with a full Certificate of Analysis (CoA) from an accredited third party laboratory. This ensures reproducibility across research batches. Each vial is packaged under nitrogen in amber glass to prevent oxidative degradation during transit and storage.

Standard Reconstitution Protocol

  1. Allow the vial to reach room temperature before opening.
  2. Wipe the rubber stopper with 70% isopropyl alcohol.
  3. Using a sterile syringe, add 2.0ml of bacteriostatic water slowly down the inner wall of the vial so do not inject directly onto the powder.
  4. Gently swirl until fully dissolved. Do not shake or vortex, this can denature the molecule.
  5. The resulting solution is 500mg/ml (0.5g/ml).
  6. Label the vial with date of reconstitution.
Reconstitution solvent Bacteriostatic water (preferred) or sterile saline
Recommended volume 2.0ml per 1000mg vial
Resulting concentration 500mg/ml
Storage after reconstitution 4°C, in dark, upright
Stability after reconstitution 30 days at 4°C
Freeze thaw cycles Avoid; aliquot before freezing if needed

What is NAD+ used for in research?

+-
NAD+ (Nicotinamide Adenine Dinucleotide) is a coenzyme found in every living cell. In research contexts, it is studied for its role in cellular energy metabolism, DNA repair, sirtuin activation, and potential applications in aging biology. It is one of the most published molecules in the field of longevity and metabolic research.

How do you reconstitute NAD+ 1000mg powder?

+-
For research use, NAD+ lyophilized powder is typically reconstituted with bacteriostatic water. A common starting dilution is 2ml of bacteriostatic water per 1000mg vial, yielding a 500mg/ml solution. Store reconstituted solution at 4°C and use within 30 days. Full protocol is in the Reconstitution tab above.

What is the purity of this NAD+ peptide?

+-
Our NAD+ 1000mg is manufactured to ≥99% purity, verified by independent third party HPLC and mass spectrometry analysis. A certificate of analysis (CoA) is included with every order and is also available on request before purchase.

How should NAD+ powder be stored?

+-
Store lyophilized NAD+ powder at -20°C for long-term stability (up to 24 months). Keep away from light and moisture. Once reconstituted, refrigerate at 4°C and use within 30 days. Avoid freeze-thaw cycles with reconstituted solution.

Do you ship internationally?

+-
Yes, we ship worldwide. International delivery typically takes 5-10 business days. Cold chain packaging is used for all peptide orders to maintain product integrity during transit.

Is NAD+ the same as NMN or NR?

+-
No, they are distinct molecules. NMN (Nicotinamide Mononucleotide) and NR (Nicotinamide Riboside) are biosynthetic precursors to NAD+. NAD+ itself is the active coenzyme. Research applications may call for different forms depending on the cellular pathway under investigation.

What is NAD+ and Why Does It Matter for Longevity Research?

Nicotinamide Adenine Dinucleotide (NAD+) is a dinucleotide coenzyme present in all living cells. It functions as a key electron carrier in redox reactions shuttling electrons from metabolic substrates to the mitochondrial electron transport chain, enabling the generation of ATP, the cell’s primary energy currency.

Beyond energy metabolism, NAD+ occupies a central node in cellular signaling. It is the exclusive substrate for the sirtuin family of protein deacylases (SIRT1–7), which regulate chromatin remodeling, metabolic gene expression, mitochondrial biogenesis and stress response pathways. NAD+ is also consumed by PARP1 during DNA damage repair and by CD38, a major NAD consuming enzyme implicated in immune function and calcium signaling.

A well documented finding in aging biology is the age related decline in cellular NAD+ levels, a phenomenon observed across multiple species and tissue types. This decline has been associated with reduced mitochondrial efficiency, impaired DNA repair capacity and altered sirtuin activity. Preclinical research using NAD+ precursors or direct NAD+ supplementation has demonstrated restoration of these functions in aged tissues, making it a focal point of longevity and metabolic research.
